Once, it used to be fisferman`s village. The old men on the bench by the harbor have been there forever !!!!!!! Back to the mediaeval times, Slatine was surrounded by magnificent grounds, with olive trees and vineyards and even today you can try wines and extra vergin olive oil, both of high quality.

Today, inhabitants of Slatine are related mostly with tourism. What really attracts tourist to Slatine is definitively its crystal clear see. The sea color ranges from a transparent aqua to a deep, almost purple.

Dense pine wood and dozen of little pebble stone coves and bays, charming beach bars – that`s short description of Slatine`s most famous beach, populary called Kava (kava means quarry).

Another attraction is lovely church consecrated to Lady of Prizidnica.

Church was built in 1546. The sanctuary is situated in beautiful natural surroundings on the southern part of the island, on the stone cliffs beside the sea. The steep cliffs, blue sea, blossoming agaves and a lot of autochthonous plant species, beside the old convent and small church enriched with votive ships, make this place incredible.
